Creative Notes:
At first, seeing the word lantern I thought of lantern beads from Czechia that I used to have and work with but I couldn’t find any in my boxes of beads. Then I started to think of warm, glowing light and I thought of how I could interpret that into jewelry.

I continued to look through my firepolish glass beads and found these two golden teardrop beads with a Picasso finish (that’s the mottled brown finish over top the transparent glass). And then above, I added Citrine gemstone beads in two sizes. With the 14k gold filled earwires these earrings have a lovely golden glow.

These earrings are part of a creative project I did to get me through the winter of 2024. A Creative Project a day, so in my case a jewelry piece, based on a printed word prompt. It became such a joy to stretch my creativity, try new things and even go back to some of my older designs to translate a word into jewelry.
